Blog gets all angrysad about what happened to Donna. DOCTOR STOLE HER FUCKING BRAIN. Blog glad RTD gone so maybe companions can have ending of happy again where nice things happen to them in their faces and they are not TRAGICALLY TORN AWAY or HEARTLESSLY MADE TO LEAVE.

STOLE HER FUCKING BRAIN, and against her will. It still pisses me off. He didn’t just erase the memories of travelling with the Doctor, he took away her self-esteem, her knowledge of how awesome she is. She went back to being shouty and shallow. And then in the End of Time we get a cheap trick. Grrr.

I really don’t think this needs explaining! Donna Noble, to me, is the companion I look up to the most. Her story is truly heartbreaking. She learned so many things, traveled the universe, saved humanity, but she’ll never be able to remember it. Really breaks my heart. She has her flaws, but what great companion doesen’t? her character really started to shine during the end of series 4, and In my opinion, her fate was worse than any other companions on new who. It’s a hard concept to grasp. Experiencing all of that, and then having to forget it. She wanted to travel with the doctor forever, as most companions do. We all know it never turns out that way. Also, I think she’s hilarious. There wasn’t one episode in series four where I didn’t burst out laughing. Catherine Tate and David Tennanta have such great chemistry together, it’s amazing!
Yes. Always love for Donna Noble. And yes, her fate was worse than that of any other companion. Even Jamie and Zoe, who, like her, were made to forget. ignoring season 6b [but why would you]
It was worse because, as we saw in Turn Left, she thought she was nothing. She had bravado, sure, but beneath that a core of self-doubt, of feelings of worthlessness. But when traveling with the Doctor she was able to see how brilliant she really was. And she was brilliant. She was brave and clever and endlessly compassionate.
Then the Doctor stole that from her. Reached into her mind, against her will, and took all that away. It’s not the loss of memories of traveling with an amazing person, but the loss of her sense of self as someone BRILLIANT.
