Feminist, Whovian, knitter, dork

Anti-kyriarchy. MostlyLesbian. Star Trek, Life on Mars, Sherlock, B5 (B7 come to that)? Horses. Books. Film/theatre/acting. Language. History, recent and ancient.

Maybe I should have put Whovian first. Maybe I should have put Twovian first. Seriously, I'm blogging/reblogging a ridiculous amount of Patrick Troughton/Second Doctor. It is my main dish at the moment. *shrug*

Also, just a note - if I know who made a gif or screen capped something I'll mention it, but it's more likely that I have absolutely no idea. If you see something that's yours, by all means let me know so I can credit you properly. LIKE THIS ICON. Made by mizz_destiny on LJ

[Image: Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor off to the side of the picture, with David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor to the bottom. Text: “I’m a college-aged student who finds him (with a red arrow pointing to Patrick Troughton) more attractive than him (with another red arrow, this time pointing to David Tennant). I don’t see a problem with this, but I wish the fandom would be okay with this view as well.]

THIS.  I really have no attraction to Tennant at all, but I respect other people’s tastes.  And you all should, too.

And another one. I also find the Trout terribly terribly attractive. I did start out being attracted to Tennant (for about 6 months), but there was always this wish/half-expectation that there would be small breasts under that pin-striped suit (there’s something of the soft butch about him). I think in an odd way he appealed to the lesbian side of me. Troughton is just.. I don’t know. Amazing.
Er, regardless:
There’s often so much status-building in who we find attractive, and so much “ewwww grossss” about seeing people naked who aren’t genetic celebrities. I don’t get it? Attraction (of any stripe) is so personal, why trash the attractions of others? Ah right, status. I am cool because I like someone who is “cool.”
Errgh it’s just more of the “you’re different therefore you suck” bullshit defensive rubbish.
